180DC x EY-Parthenon Case Competition 2024

180DC’s annual case competition in collaboration with EY-Parthenon brings together UCLA’s brightest minds to discover innovative solutions for real-world business problems. If you’re someone who’s passionate in impact-driven business, this unparalleled opportunity will allow you to:

  • Gain valuable insight on sustainable-focused business challenges through a hands-on approach. 

  • Develop and showcase your market assessment skills through a real-world corporate mergers & acquisitions case. 

  • Pitch your ideas to a panel of distinguished judges working at EY-Parthenon, and network and engage with industry professionals and like-minded students. 

  • Enhance business acumen, critical thinking skills, and teamwork through experiential learning. 
     

Whether you have prior business experience or not, 180DC welcomes people from all backgrounds to participate in this case competition. Finalists will have the opportunity to present their final presentations to EY-Parthenon professionals, and winners will receive prizes!

How It Works:

Participants can sign up in groups of 4-5 UCLA students or individually. Individual registrants will be assigned into groups before kickoff day.

FAQ

Who is allowed to join this competition?

All undergraduate UCLA students are welcome to join this case competition. No consulting or business experience is needed.

How can I find teammates?

Try reaching out to people in any of the clubs you’re involved in, dormmates, classes, or on social media or GroupMe chats!
Individual registrants are also encouraged to utilize the #find-a-team channel on the case competition Slack page to join or form teams with other participants!

I don’t have any consulting experience or business background. Can I still compete in the case competition?

Of course! We encourage anyone interested in consulting to participate in this case competition. Regardless of whether you have prior consulting knowledge or not, this opportunity will be a great learning experience for you! 

How can I find and get to know my teammates if I am matched with a team?

If you choose to sign up individually, 180DC will assign you with other members and provide 48 hours for you to meet and confirm your group. Within those 48 hours, you will also have the ability to request a group switch. Afterwards, we will finalize the teammates within each group!

How many rounds will be in this case competition?

This case competition will have 2 rounds (first and final) over the span of 2 weeks.

How many teams will be admitted into the Final Round?

The top 5 teams from first round submissions will be selected to present to the EY-Parthenon judges in the Final Round. There will be 3 winning teams from the 5 finalists.
