Why did you join 180DC, and how did you hear about it?

I was searching for business societies to join at the Enormous Activities Fair in Fall 2019 when I came across 180DC. I wanted to join a business society because I am interested in pursuing a business-related profession because of my passion for economics. I have also had experience in business competitions and societies in high school and liked it. I am trying out different streams in business such as consulting. I tried out for and joined 180DC because I liked 180DC's emphasis on social value through consulting non-profits and social enterprises. I appreciated the effect 180DC consultants and I could have on these enterprises.

What is your favorite 180DC memory?

I loved the 2020 UCLA-USC social at Santa Monica beach! It was a beautiful day well-spent at the beach, getting to socialize with 180DC as a new member. I also enjoyed playing cards and volleyball with other 180DC members.

What's your favorite thing to do in LA and why?

Hiking! I love hiking and LA has a variety of extremely scenic trails. I try to do at least one hike every month. It is always a refreshing experience to not be in Westwood and be out and trotting in the greens that LA has to offer. It makes me appreciate the beauty of LA and California on a new level.

What would you rate 10/10 and why?

My maternal grandfather and his stories. He lived through the partition of India, migrated to India and served in the Indian Military, so he obviously has a multitude of life experiences to tell his grandchildren. I really enjoy his stories which are often exceptional and seem surreal to me. He is a humorous, good-hearted man and I love him!

Give a travel recommendation.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India! I visited Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 2010 but I still reminisce about the visit with great affection. They are scenic islands Southeast of India that are rich with historical museums, jails, picturesque colonial forts, fortresses (for the history lovers out there!) and great beaches where you can unwind. There are also these beautiful coral reefs where you can do snorkeling.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I was a First Dan Black Belt and Junior Sensei in Karate for five years (so don't mess with me!). I loved it because it was a great way for me to play a sport professionally and be physically healthy.
