User Engagement & Analytics
Our projects typically last 8-10 weeks, with new cycles beginning each September, January, and April. Each project is staffed with teams of 4-5 consultants led by 1-2 experienced project managers.
All project teams are overseen by our Director of Consulting and mentored by consultants at top firms, including McKinsey & Company, Bain & Company, and Boston Consulting Group.
Project Structure
By working flexibly and diligently with our clients from the ground up every step of the way, we foster innovative thinking and deliver actionable solutions that fit their goals and realize their vision.
Pre-Week 1
Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation, we will get to know your organization and more about your mission, your operations, and your short-term and long-term goals. We will also discuss any challenges you are currently facing and ways we can help. Upon mutual agreement, we will move forward with the project.
Weeks 1-2
Project Team Introduction
Meet the team you'll be working closely with over the next 8-10 weeks. On this first call, they will introduce themselves, discuss your pain points, ask any necessary clarifying questions, and work closely with you to draft a project roadmap and framework.
Weeks 3-8
Research & Analysis
The team works to develop your personalized recommendations through ideation, research, data analysis, and synthesis. They will regularly update you on their progress through weekly calls.
Week 5
Mid-Project Review
A formal mid-project check-in in the form of a presentation or a written deliverable in order to ensure the team is on the correct track and has ample time to adjust their strategy as needed.
Week 10
Final Presentation
After thorough review by the Director of Consulting and project mentor(s), the team walks you through a comprehensive presentation outlining their findings and recommendations.
Post-Week 10
Client Feedback
We obtain feedback about the team's overall performance, as well as our branch's onboarding process, communication, and quality of deliverables.

Acquisition Strategy
The 180DC team formulated a recruitment strategy for the Red Cross's Disaster Duty Officer role, where volunteers play a crucial role in disseminating information during emergencies. Our team identified the interested demographics of college volunteer and created a detailed, actionable to-go-market strategy for volunteer acquisition in Southern California.
"The consultants at 180DC UCLA crafted a highly effective strategy that significantly boosted the number of Disaster Duty Officer volunteers throughout the LA region. The DDO position has been an extremely tough role to get filled, but the 180DC team has truly exceeded our expectations! The students are incredibly talented, hardworking, and a joy to collaborate with."

Funding Efficiency
The 180DC team improved Depaul's funding strategy and assisted with real estate acquisition to increase their housing supply. With funding the Depaul team created a matrix of feasible grants and provided the Depaul team with the resources needed for application, including a pitch deck and a letter of intent. For the real estate portion, the team compiled a list of potential properties and explored various methods for funding the purchase, like government grants.
"The deliverables we received in exchange for our time was great. These are things we will be able to reuse in the future."

Marketing Strategy
The team conducted extensive consumer research and used the insights to create a comprehensive brand identity and an integrated, targeted marketing plan for them to reach the students in high schools all over the U.S.
“We very much enjoyed our collaboration with the UCLA team. They were very attentive to all of our project requirements and were great at keeping us updated on their progress throughout the entire engagement. The final deliverable exceeded our expectations, and our organization has benefited from it immensely.”
